Keeping up with the latest products in the tech world is interesting, and a lot of the gadgets and accessories that are released on an almost daily basis can be quite useful for a lot of people. The Gadget Digest series aims to bring the latest and most interesting devices to your attention, and here are today’s gadgets:
Intel’s 330 SSD series is coming to the market very soon
Intel has a slew of new, affordable SSDs coming to the market this month – the 330 series, which feature double the performance of the previous 320 series and a very attractive price point for each of the models – $89 for the 60 GB version, $149 for the 120 GB and $234 for the 180 GB versions. The sequential read and write speeds are 500 MB/s and 400 MB/s, respectively, which is twice as fast as the 320 series and on par with the more expensive 520 series that’s currently on the market. The new SandForce controller that Intel uses inside the 330 may be seen as a step back, though – SandForce hasn’t been known for its reliability, as opposed to Intel’s own chip in the X25 and 320 series.
The Bag of Rhythm is one of the most unique accessories you can get for your iPhone
If you want to get an exclusive accessory for your iPhone or iPod that is well made, will attract a lot of attention and it’s also practical, then you should definitely check out the House of Marley Bag of Rhythm. It is basically an audio dock – the most unique audio dock, that is. It looks and works like a bag, complete with a handle, so you can carry it around anywhere, and thanks to the integrated pair of 4.5 inch speakers and 1 inch tweeters, relatively big size and a big battery on the inside, you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite music anywhere you want.
The RAZR Maxx conversion kit lets you Maxx out your Droid RAZR
If you’re unhappy with the fact that Motorola sold you the Droid RAZR, then immediately released an improved version with double the battery life (I’m talking about the Droid RAZR Maxx, obviously), then you’ll be happy to know there is a solution – you can turn your RAZR into the RAZR Maxx with the conversion kit from Cellphone-Repair-Shop.com . The only parts that are different is the back cover and battery, and you can replace them with the Maxx versions pretty easily, getting more than 20 hours of continuous work time out of your smartphone!
Synology’s DS112 and DS412+ NAS drives are perfect for the modern data hoarder
If you like storing everything you come across, or you just need a lot of storage space for your work, backups or archives, then you should definitely check out Synology’s new NAS drive enclosures (with drives included, of course). The DS112 has 2 bays for 3.5 or 2.5 inch hard drives, while the DS412+ has 4 bays, letting you store a very impressive amount of data, with speed to match if you use the drives in RAID mode.
SMS Audio SYNC by 50 brings you wireless and wired sound, takes on Beats by Dre
Beats by Dre has become something of an icon in the audio world, despite the fact that the products aren’t any better than any other mid to high end audio hardware. Well, 50 Cent caught on to the fact and is now also trying to get into the game with the SMS Audio SYNC headphones, which actually look pretty nice and can be used both with a wire or wirelessly using the supplied audio transmitter. The audio quality is pretty good, but you’ll have to pay the price, and it’s not 50 cents either – the SYNC cost a whole $400.
